Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the relationship between media ecology, collective memory, and cultural tourism in the digital age. It also highlights the impact of technology on how we think, relate, and communicate, as well as on the construction of identity and the appreciation of culture. The potential adverse effects of cultural tourism, such as the com-modification and trivialization of culture, are explored, and solutions are proposed using digital tools, such as platforms for preserving collective memory and augmented reality for authentic cultural experiences. The study stresses the importance of investigating this relationship and the potential of digital tools in constructing significant collective memories.
