Description
In this proposal, the general objective is to optimize the comprehensive management of large hydroelectric plants to improve the impact of their operation on the territory from the perspective of sustainability. To meet this objective, this proposal is based on the positivist theory that hopes to test the hypothesis that there is a comprehensive and optimal way of managing hydroelectric plants that improves the impact of their operation on the territory from the perspective of sustainability. This quantitative research The analytical type will take as its starting point the data previously collected by Polanco and his collaborators (Polanco, 2018, 2019; Polanco & Ramírez, 2017), with the unit of analysis of this study being the management of hydroelectric plants and their impact on the three sustainability dimensions. The identities of the hydroelectric plants under study are not mentioned for reasons of confidentiality of the previous investigation. The variables of this study include the variables of perception on impact and management of the groups related to the hydroelectric plants (local community, energy company and municipalities). ), the level of sediments from the hydroelectric plant, the free cash flow and the sustainability indicators in the three dimensions and their interactions:-Society: Construction of social capital, trust, relationships and organizational networks;-Environment: Climate change, biodiversity and state of natural resources, water and soil.-Economy: Power generation, budget and monetary compensation associated with the impact of hydroelectric plants.-Society - Environment: Training, awareness and environmental culture in the territory.-Economy – Environment: Economics of natural resources (supply and demand), environmental pollution, basic sanitation psycho.-Economy - Society: Activities for sustenance, food security, organization of production and marketing of agricultural products. The strategy of this research consists of taking two large Colombian hydroelectric plants in operation as a case study to identify patterns, correlations and interdependencies between the variables of perception and sustainability. Specific objective 1 aims to relate the management of hydroelectric plants with the impact of their operation through the quantitative analysis of the perception of interest groups. Said analysis will be carried out by contrasting the perception variables (independent variables) with the impact results (dependent variables) applying non-parametric inferential statistical techniques such as contingency tables and Wilcoxon tests. In specific objective 2, it is expected to predict the trends of comprehensive management of hydroelectric plants that guarantee their sustainability in the territory. For this, it is proposed to carry out a principal components analysis that allows identifying the most important perception variables in the model and simplifying the model (reducing the number of variables). Subsequently, it is proposed to identify the correlation that exists between the most influential perception variables and the sustainability variables through Pearson correlations. The simplified correlation model will make it possible to predict the comprehensive management trends of hydroelectric plants that promote sustainability in the territory. Specific objective 3 seeks to identify the management of large hydroelectric plants with optimal impact on the impact of their operation on the territory based on in sustainability indicators. For this, it is proposed to build a multi-objective optimization model whose solution would establish an optimal balance between the multiple sustainability decision criteria. In addition, an analysis of the data envelope would allow a posteriori analysis to identify combinations of management variables with optimal sustainability performance.
