Description

Cancer is one of the main causes of morbidity in the world, the who indicates that in 2012 there were 14 million new cases in the world and it is expected that in the next 20 years the number of new cases will increase by 70%. in women, breast cancer and cervical cancer are the most frequent in the female population, which being detected in time have a high recovery rate. cancer generates alterations in multiple dimensions such as family, social and psychological among others.

Objective

Establish the existing relationship between coping strategies and quality of life in women with cervical and breast cancer. identify the sociodemographic variables of the participants according to the quality of life and coping strategies. to describe quality of life and coping strategies in patients with cervical and breast cancer. identify differences between coping strategies and quality of life depending on the diagnosis of cervical and breast cancer.

Expected results

The difference of the proposed development to those already existing is in measuring at the same time the quality of life and coping styles in two types of patients (women with cervical and breast cancer) in several colombian cities. it is expected that the results will contribute to the research community to enhance the development of psychological treatment devices. the participating women and the nursing, medicine and psychology community that have to do with care would be the potential users of the developments.
