Development of photodetectors in the infrared using adjustable quantum wells with delta doping inside the well

Project Details

Description

The project is dedicated to the development of the new design of the photodetector using quantum wells in the infrared adjustable in the frequency by means of the original idea of ??controlling the energy profile and consequently the distance between the electronic levels of the quantum well changing the level of ionization of the delta layer of impurity inside the well. the methods are exact numerical calculations including self-consistent calculations of the energetic structure of the quantum wells and calculations of intra-band terahertz absorption.

Objective

To theoretically and numerically base the possibility of creating photodetectors in the infrared using adjustable quantum wells with delta doping inside the well. propose the optimal parameters and estimate the frequency range and operating conditions

Expected results

Article isi wos or scopus, accepted. international presentation the project is based on the original idea and can lead to the creation of the optical device with performance improvement (adjustable qwip).
