Project Details

Description

"the sogamoso hydroelectric plant was put into operation in december 2014. since the start of operation, there have been two dumping periods, one in december 2015 and another in april-july 2017. the discharge into a power generation reservoir it is an event that should be taken as a non-extraordinary and periodic event, however, the communities that live downstream of an infrastructure of this type, when the river is regulated by the reservoir, do not necessarily understand this condition and begin to to inhabit or to develop economic activities in the river in areas that previously presented periodic floods. "

Objective

"characterize the response of the contributing basin to the sogamoso reservoir based on spatial distribution patterns of precipitation over the basin."

Expected results

"despite the scientific efforts made to answer the question of this research, the relationship between the spatial variability of precipitation and the hydrological response of the basin remains an open topic in hydrology (emmanuel, 2015). few investigations in this regard they have been made in the tropics, and with real simultaneous events.
